At Teeling Whiskey we believe in driving the evolution of Irish whiskey through the creation of unconventional and unique expressions. Our Wonders of Wood series is part of this innovative mission as we strive to push the boundaries of flavour by using unique styles of wood for maturation.
Wood is an amazing sustainable and environmentally friendly material that has a huge impact on the flavour of whiskey as it matures. We are truly in wonder of the role wood has in crafting whiskey as well as its impact on the wider environment. Our goal with this series of innovative bottlings of Teeling Whiskey is to do our part in helping the replanting of our native forests.
In partnership with the Tree Council of Ireland each bottle of the Wonders of Wood contributes towards our efforts to plant exclusively native Irish tree species in designated acres of land across Ireland. For more details specifically on our efforts to support Irish reforestation and the Wonders of Wood initiative please see the video below.

The Tree Council of Ireland is a non-governmental voluntary organisation that was set up in 1985 as an umbrella body for organisations involved in the establishment, management and conservation of trees in Ireland. Their mission statement is to foster a tree culture in Ireland through action and awareness. Their objective is to educate the public about the nature and value of trees through the organisation of events and tree-related activities, to facilitate networking among members and to be a representative voice for tree culture and tree promotion.
When we launched Wonders of Wood Series One, as part of our sustainability mission, we planted an acre of trees in Wicklow’s spectacular and unspoiled Glencree Valley, on the edge of the Wicklow National Park and on the Wicklow Way. Just 12 miles from Dublin the spectacular views of Dublin Bay on one side and the Wicklow mountains on the other create a beautiful scenery to be enjoyed and savoured by everyone who visits. While you are here you can take a walk through Glencree’s wooded hillsides where you can explore and discover the various different types of wood which were the inspiration for our Wonders of Wood series. This first batch of Teeling Trees can be found at coordinates 53.189533205860045, -6.28497993246082. If you stop by be sure to send us some pictures!
The designated area of woodland that we have chosen to plant the native Irish trees for Wonders of Wood Series 2 is in the Glencullen area of Co. Dublin, at the foothill of the Wicklow mountains just a short distance from where we planted the trees for series one.
With the third edition of the Wonders of Wood Series, we have planted a new acre of native Irish trees building upon our sustainable efforts as we grow our award-winning whiskeys even further.
As we release more whiskeys in this series, we will continue our efforts to contribute to the reforestation of Ireland in partnership with The Tree Council of Ireland.

The Wonders of Wood bottlings consist of our Single Pot Still crafted from a recipe of 50% malted barley and 50% unmalted barley which has been triple distilled in our Dublin distillery and fully matured in unique styles of wood from around the world.
Wood is an amazing sustainable and environmentally friendly material that has a huge impact on the flavour of whiskey as it matures. WE ARE TRULY IN WONDER of the role wood plays in CRAFTING WHISKEY and maintaining the environment.
THE TREE COUNCIL OF IRELAND, the WONDERS OF WOOD series, will help to plant exclusively native Irish tree species in our own designated acre of land across Ireland.
